It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said:“Avoid the sins that doom one to Hell…“…Associating others with Allah (Shirk), magic, killing a soul whom Allah has forbidden killing, consuming Interest (Riba), consuming the property of orphans, fleeing on the day of the march (to the battlefield), and slandering chaste women,etc.

- Associating anything with Allaah
- Showing disrespect to parents
- Murder
- Practicing magic
- Abandoning Salah
- Not paying Zakah
- Not fasting during the month of Ramadhaan without excuse
- Not performing Hajj, while being able to do so
- Severing relations with relatives
- Committing adultery
- Committing sodomy
- Dealing in Riba’ (interest)
- Wrongfully consuming the property of an orphan
- Lying about Allaah or His Messenger ﷺ
- Running away from the battlefield
- Deceiving the people that one rules & being unjust to them
- Being proud & arrogant
- Bearing false witness
- Drinking alcohol
- Gambling
- Falsely accusing chaste women (i.e. of committing fornication or adultery)
- Stealing from the spoils of war
- Stealing
- Committing highway robbery
- Making false oath
- Committing oppression
- Earning ill-gotten gain
- Consuming what is unlawful

- Judging unjustly
- Giving & accepting a bribe

- Allowing one’s wife, daughters, etc. to display their beauty to men or conduct illicit sexual relations
- Marrying a divorced woman in order to make her lawful for her ex-husband to remarry her after he irrevocably divorced her
- Not protecting oneself or one’s clothes from being contaminated with urine or excrement.

- Learning knowledge of the religion for the sake of this world and withholding that knowledge (i.e., not teaching people)
- Betraying a trust
- Recounting favors
- Denying Allah’s Decree
- Listening to people’s private conversations
- Carrying gossip

- Believing in fortune-tellers
- Behaving badly towards one’s husband
- Making statues
- Lamenting, wailing, tearing the clothing, & doing other things of this sort when an affliction falls
- Treating others wrongfully

- Offending one’s neighbor
- Offending and abusing Muslims
- Offending people & having an arrogant attitude toward them
- Trailing one’s garment in pride
- Wearing silk & gold (this is for men only)
- Running away from one’s master (this is for slaves)
- Slaughtering an animal that has been dedicated to anyone other than Allaah
- To knowingly ascribe one’s paternity to a man other than one’s biological father
- Arguing & disputing violently
- Withholding excess water
- Giving short weight or measure
- Feeling secure from Allaah’s Plan
- Offending pious people
- Not praying in congregation but praying alone without an excuse
- Persistently missing Friday Prayer without any excuse
- Usurping the rights of the heir through bequests (to others)
- Deceiving & plotting evil
- Spying for the enemy of the Muslims against Muslim’s interest
- Cursing or insulting any of the Companions of the Prophet
