COVID-19 Vaccine led to the Death of Gen Pecos Kutesa- Widow Dorah Kutesa
Fallen RO/00026 Lt. Gen. Pecos Kutesa and Dorah Kuteesa have been together as fighters and couple since the NRA liberation bush war. Whiling addressing mourners at their home in Buziga Makindye Division,Dorah Kutesa thanked God who has kept them for a period of 41 years in marriage.
According to Mrs Dorah Kuteesa, the vaccination against COVID 19 led to his death because the vaccine caused his donated liver to fail.
“The surgeon sent me a message that the vaccine altered his immunity and so caused the rejection of the liver and his body also started rejecting it”.
Kuteesa explains that “when you have an organ that doesn’t belong to you, the doctors put you on immune suppressants to keep on suppressing your immunity not to reject the donated body organ as a foreign organ.
“Pecos has been on suppressants which we have been getting from India.” She further explained.
She revealed that when COVID vaccines came, she told her husband not to go for the jab because of his liver problem.“He asked me to inquire from the surgeons in India and I sent a message to him (surgeon) inquiring whether it was safe for him to take the vaccine”
“The surgeon replied that “I think so” since he had other patients he had worked on for kidney transplant and had been vaccinated against corona virus”. Dorah Kuteesa added that when she told the husband about the surgeon’s response and immediately he put on his uniform and went to Mbuya and received his jab though she did not want him to get it.
“So that vaccine is the one that boosted his immunity then his body started rejecting the liver organ. It is the cause of his death.”“He called me when he was from attending the burial of the daughter of Gen Katumba Wamala that his eyes had turned yellow and did not know what to do”.“I told him not to come home and instead rush to hospital because I knew that was liver problem and it was dangerous”.When he reached Medipal hospital in Kololo, the doctor said they could not handle him and immediately referred him to Nairobi hospital.
In Nairobi, they gave him some medication but the body had completely rejected the liver and he was referred to India. In India, he had been scheduled to undergo another kidney transplant with a son as a donor but surgeons could not go on with the operation since his body had weakened further. He had high blood pressure, internal organ bleeding and was on oxygen under intensive care unit when his heart stopped beating.
Liver Complication
In 2009, Gen Pecos Kutesa’s liver was damaged from excessive alcohol consumption, and was then at the verge of death, it was only a transplant that could save his life.
Kutesa’s life depended on an urgent liver transplant, donated by a compatible donor (right blood group and setting of cells, body weight and age group).
Three women offered half of their liver to be donated to Kutesa, but after various medical tests, only his wife’s was found compatible.
Dora Kutesa donated about 70% of her liver to her husband. After a month of hospitalization in India.
Mrs. .Kuteesa told the family that her husband died a happy and satisfied man because while they were still in Nairobi, he started reflecting on what he has gone through during the war and what he has contributed to the country and said he was willing to go.
Gen Pecos Kutesa was buried at his country home in Kabula County, Lyantonde district on Sunday 22 August.
